The worst thing about the whole rotting CDs situation is the fact that it is ONLY really rare CDs that seem to disintegrate... all of the Claudia Brucken CDs I got on the Island label are rotting... Charles is wrong to think that they were made as gold discs, they were originally silver but have over time yellowed and turned gold until the silver is so rotten that it starts flaking off. The information is, in any case, recorded on the plastic so, in theory, if anyone knows of any kits to repair CDs, repainting the plastic with silver should make them work again... anyone tried this? can anyone recommend any good kits?? CDs I have that are disintegrating include CD Singles from ABC, a US pressing of A Secret Wish by Propaganda (developing some very odd fraktals, weird really), any CDs from Polygram Manufacturing (bast*rds!) as well as a Human League CD single of Love is All that Matters. There are many more but I don't want to depress myself. Funny isn't it that it's only the CDs that are deleted or super rare that self destruct... Isn't it great meanwhile and moving almost back to topic that TCH will produce the new Belle and Sebastian album. I hope TaTU collaborate ;)
