Amalgam/Keith Rowe
Patrice (still under the shock). PS: this might already been known but I cannot resist to say that FMR will reissue (soon) Trevor Watt's Amalgam fantastic WIPE OUT!!! Yes, the one with Keith Rowe playing rock guitar :-). Yes, this is great news. According to the Trevors, both Taylor of FMR and Watts, the box will be out this month. This is one I've been waiting for lo these many years. Don't miss Amalgam's "Innovations" which was released a few months ago on FMR and features some of the funkiest Keith Tippett you'll ever hear. As for Mr. Rowe, his duo with John Tilbury, "Duos for Doris." is on my best of list for this year (along with Dave Holland's "Extended Play"), and may qualify for Desert Island! Some of the best stuff out of the AMM gang in a long while. Alan Kayser _________________________________________________________________ Instant message during games with MSN Messenger 6.0. Thanks for telling that it is coming even sooner that I thought!

I completely agree with Alan. In fact, what makes, IMHO, Trevor's music so appealing is its lyrical approach to improv and this is a characteristic that he shares with Keith, hence the treat of getting this record where they complement each other so well. As if not enough, the rhythmic section is killer: John Stevens, Kent Carter/Lindsay Cooper and Terri Quaye. Patrice.
