Cheesy? Certainly not for me. I'm still wondering why nobody replied to this message (maybe I didn't notice). Looks really promising to me. Absolutely Morricone-influenced but that should be a positive thing, shouldn't it?! I'm expecting this to be one of the best recent Zorn's. Best, Efrén del Valle
According to CDUniverse is Rob Burger. And the rest of the band is Ribot, Friedlander, Trevor Dunn and Kenny Wollesen.

The guitar intro is pretty nice, but when the accordion comes in, I don't know, I just can't listen anymore - definitely NOT Morricone-influenced from that point on... Piazzola on a bad day perhaps? Morricone, Rota, Piazzola and French musette were all mentioned in the info, and with that list I am still hoping for good things from the rest of the cd. Incidentally if you like that track, check out Evan Lurie's stuff for bandoneon (also involving Ribot), similar sounds, but less cheese...
