The Residents were a popular band in the alternative circles in Melbourne in the late 70s. Unfortunately they toured in the early 80s and were appalling. Their support band, "Shower scene from psycho" played a great set beforehand that showed up the Residents as a sub Zappa wannabe band with bad masks. Residents offsider Snakefinger played a blistering set a few years beforehand at Melbourne University where the intensity got him to the point where he had a heart attack after the show.
