Deathprod is not a group, but the artist name of Helge Steen, who plays electronics in Supersilent. He does cut-ups and electronic noise, as well as playing the theramin and various keyboards/samplers. He also plays with norwegian post rockers(or whatever...), Motorpsycho. The Scorch Trio disc is fantastic, although perhaps somewhat restrained. I am going to see them live next week, and from what I've heard they're a bit more loose live. Looking forward to that.

they're maybe our most avant-garde group apart from a few artists off the Runegramofon-label. i dunno if anyone here have heard of Supersilent or Deathprod??
I've got Supersilent 4 and, although I haven't listened to it lately, remember liking it very much (a plus about these lists -- reminds us of what we haven't heard lately). The only Deathprod I've got is their remix of Arne Nordheim's early electronic pieces, also great stuff, but I have no idea how representative that is. This Deathprod sounds a lot like the muffled ambience of Biosphere, what does their other work sound like?
I'd recommend some other Rune Grammofon as well. Arne Henriksen plays shakuhachi-like music on a trumpet on his Sakuteiki album, and Information's Biomekano is a pretty good electronica album in a genre that's getting a little crowded for my taste. Anyone heard the new Scorch Trio album with Raoul Bjorkenheim? --
