I guess what I was trying to say was that his solos at the recent Masada gig tended to end up, peak, at the same place. And listening to him circular breath on a single high note just reminded me of Roscoe's tour de force earlier that week. I've never stopped loving Zorn the arranger and composer but as a player I think my favorite recordings are back in the day a la Sonny Clark Memorial Quartet, News for Lulu & Spillane. And please don't throw me out of the kitchen. I've led the Sonic Life forever and wouldn't have a clue how to function without the noise. Best, Toby "If you can't handle his high-pitched squeals, get out of the kitchen. That's like saying "I like Sonic Youth, but I wish they'd stop doing all that abstract noise shit."
