Hello Efrén, (So sorry it took me so long to reply; I've been having a lot of trouble accessing this e-mail account) About the Masada songbook, you said, >>>Zorn was writing Masada tunes (I don't know the exact number, but over two hundred) for a certain period of time.<<< If he writes anything new in that vein, is the new song considered part of the Masada songbook, as well? Or does the Masada songbook simply encompass anything that might be considered "Jewish" music, written anytime? Also, is Zorn the only composer of the Masada songbook?
Electric Masada uses electric instruments, including keyboards, electric guitar, electric bass, laptop, etc... although the Bar Kokhba sextet already included Ribot. So I guess it should be called More Electric Masada. Expect an Even More Electric Masada configuration anytime soon, including heavy metal guitars, electric drums and firework paraphernalia!<<<
Hmmmm, now that could be interesting! Thanks very much for your reply. Sincerely, Jennifer np: Zorn's "Filmworks XI: Under the Wing" _________________________________________________________________ Is your PC infected? No idea, but he's supposed to have stopped writing Masada tunes a while ago, if I'm not wrong. Or does the Masada
songbook simply encompass anything that might be considered "Jewish" music, written anytime?
No that I know. Kol Nidre or Kristallnacht don't belong to the Masada songbook, not to mention any of the numerous tributes to Jewish artists from his discography. Masada is a very specific project with its particular style that it's being developed through different lineups and approaches.
Also, is Zorn the only composer of the Masada songbook?
Yes, it's HIS project. Best, Efrén del Valle n.p: Lou Reed "The Blue Mask" n.r: Jorge Luis Borges "Ficciones" ______________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! lanza su nueva tecnologÃa de búsquedas ¿te atreves a comparar? http://busquedas.yahoo.es
