The "middle mind" article perfectly articulated the source of my dis-ease when listening to NPR. One more potshot at Terry Gross: Last week she interviewed Ricky Skaggs and asked a definitively "middle mind" question: "Why do country audiences continue to buy into big hats & flashy suits when that image is such a cliche?"
