Does anybody know where I can order the "Napoli 23" album by Hemstock, Sverrisson, Kang & Jensson? And if it happens to be any good? I can't find any info on it, but I'm looking for CDs to buy untill the new Secret Chiefs 3 stuff is released and this one looks like it might be suitable.
One of the best places (although with most discs at $20 + shipping a tad expensive) was/is Bad Taste/Smekkleysa Records (Sigur Rós's "Von", Múm's "Loksins erum vio engin" etc.) in Iceland. I say WAS because the last time I was on their site (google it) it was listed, but didn't seem to link to a buy page. They could be out. It's a nice disc, from what I heard of it some time back... I think this was their overview: You might wanna call it "eastern jazz", You might wanna call it "experimental", you might wanna call it "acoustic+electronics", but we just call it "great". A new calm and beautiful CD, like a massage to your overworked brain. Features all new music composed and played by Eyvind Kang (violas), Hilmar Jensson (guitar, electronics), Skuli Sverrisson (baritone guitar, electric+acoustic basses, treatments+electronics) and Matthias MD Hemstock (drums, electronics). -P NP: Mauricio Kagel - "Les idées fixes" OD: Maja Ratkje - "Voice"
