If you're gonna say X, I'll throw my pop hat in for XTC. There early eighties albums are great and damn near impossible to get these days. Sheister. -T
I had heard that their records are being reissued with bonus material: Drums and Wires was reissued in 2001 and White Music is remastered now (both CDs already had extra tracks). www.deepdiscountcd.com lists a remaster of Black Sea and Go 2, both for 11.97 (no s&h). They also have a new box, Coat of Many Cupboards, which is mostly rarities, and AMG says the band may be working on their own "archival release." Also, if someone had wondered where the Brigitte Fontaine Sonic Youth material was, its SYR 6.
Kim Gordon, Ikue Mori, DJ Olive & Jim O'Rourke [kim gordon is the only thing holding me back on this one]
By all means, let Kim Gordon hold you back on this one. I've found I enjoy both Kim and Thurston's lyrics less and less. I haven't even listened to NYC Ghosts & Flowers after hearing Thurston on the first track. _____________________________________________________________ May peace be the founding unity of all ideologies. actually, i think ALL the XTC albums have been remastered and are available in the UK. they're going to dribble them out domestically. however, i picked up mine through amazon.co.uk and got the spiffy mini-lp versions for several of them, and i think with shipping divided among the discs, i didn't pay more than $15 US or so. you can also get them, autographed by Colin and Andy, no less, through the XTC website. sean
