nonZ/SamuelBeckett& avantFrenchFilm question
hi guys since ive become dvd stupid lately, since i got the darned thing just for operas- bought way too much stuff- i have two questions. 1/ has anyone bought/seen the 4xDVD Beckett On Film that contains his complete plays? im sure im going to wind up buying it, but the cheapest Ive seen is amazon, for a steep $150USD. if anyone knows cheaper sources... pls advise. 2/ mebbe a decade ago there was a surreal french comedy that had me in stitches... i remember it had a butcher, a couple hacing sex with squeaky springs that eventually fell through the floor below, hysterically funny dark comedy a la Brazil. i dont remember the name. anyone? much thanks steve koenig n.p.: frederic rzewski plays rzewski 7cd all new perfs
#2 is Jeunet & Caro's "Delicatessen." They were also responsible for the fairly good "City of Lost Children," which begins with a rather incredible Santa-down-the-chimney sequence that the rest of the film unfortunately doesn't approach. I hear they did a horror movie before "Delicatessen" - anyone know anything about it? 28 AM 8/23/2002 -0400, Acousticlv@aol.com wrote:

I saw the Godot live at UCLA. It is sublime. Can't wait to see the DVD version. im sure im going to wind up buying it, but the cheapest Ive seen is amazon, for a steep $150USD. if anyone knows cheaper sources... pls advise. http://www.beckettonfilm.com/beckett_dvd.html 2/ Delicatessen Don't miss City of Lost Children by same directors/siblings.
#2 is Delicatessen. Sadly not in print on DVD. If you liked Delicatessen, you might also try Tuvalu, which IS out on DVD. The French comedy is Delicatessen. Directed by Jeunet and Caro who later created The city of lost children. Both films star Dominique Pinon. Joshua NP Anthony Braxton (actuel 6)

Now you know it's "Delicatessen " -- there are actually a couple of scenes in Jeunet's latest film, "Amelie" (you couldn't have missed it, the film got tons of press and awards) that echo the sex and squeaks as well. Dominique Pinon is in it too. "Amelie" was very good, but not as good as "Delicatessen." And it was certainly way better than "Alien: Resurrection." Further, since the info on the production(s) is sketchy-- Are any of these the SB-directed definitive versions? Any other SB coming or arrived on DVD? Deep Discount DVD is usually cheapest for everything, but they don't have this in their database (yet?). Okay, RL .....Beckett Eulogy: http://www.velocity.net/~bb10k CRISPELL; Wm.
