Any recommendations for an introduction to Moondog?
I can't recommend 'Sax Pax For a Sax' highly enough. Gorgeous melodies, cut after cut after cut. This would be among my desert island discs if I hadn't played it almost constantly the year it came out and finally tired of it a bit. In fact, I believe I purchased it based on a recommendation here on the Z-list, many years ago. I also dig everything else of his that I've heard, including Elpmas (more minimalist), the prestige recording from the 50's and the 1969 recording (also incredible). I think both of these are eponymous. Also, if you can find it, there's a great Love Child ep (with Alan Licht) of three or four Moondog covers, can't remember the title of that one either. --Mike __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I think it's called "Love Child Plays Moondog," on Forced Exposure.
