Forgive me if I bring a new low in queries to this list, but I find myself in trouble and have no place else to go. Baby. Nephew, now crazy bout pirates. Want to get him a DVD or video for his 4th b-day. Aside from Pirates of the Caribbean, any suggestions? Treasure Island? He'd prefer if it weren't rated Rrrrrrrr. Martin
The orig MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY w/Chas Laughton is still my fav in the genre, as it was in my childhood. No Bligh was ever more mean-spirited. sh on 2/18/04 9:42 AM, mwisckol@ocregister.com at mwisckol@ocregister.com wrote:

Muppet Treasure Island was a surprising return to form, quality-wise, for the battered series... it was actually really funny, and a four-year-old wouldn't have any trouble grooving along with it. The Curtiz classics, especially Captain Blood and/or The Sea Hawk, would also place really high on the list of stuff that kids really should see when they're still too young to be jaded. Also, just for giggles, there's a good-sized list of pirate movies up at http://pirateshold.buccaneersoft.com/pirate_movies.html
