My mouth is now officially watering for the version of Ellington's Fargo concert that Skip mentions. Skip, do you find this label at your local stores, or is it a mail order thing? And yes, I'll jump in with a hearty "Damn straight!" as regards those Rhino X reissues, of which I've grabbed four of the six so far (the first three and 'Ain't Love Grand?'). The candid and revealing liner notes are also worth treasuring - particularly painful are those dealing with recording 'Ain't Love Grand?' with a hair-metal producer who basically wanted to scrub Exene out of the picture. Should be available at Tower. That's where I picked up their Kirby. The others I got at Amoeba Hollywood.

Almost anyone who has spent time in a room with Exene is likely to understand the producer's urges on that score. sh NP: The Stickmen, INSATIABLE (still the greatest)
The Legit reissue of Ellington's "Fargo" is on Storyville. The Spanish version could be of dubious legitimicay. Storyville has been doing a lot of interesting Ellington lately, including the Treasury series of 1940s broadcasts to be issued on 22 double-CDs. They're up to Vol. 5.
