I recently heard an unidentified piece consisting of only saxaphone and tablas ( or some other hand percussion). I have no idea who either of the musicians were, but i was totally blown away by what I heard. The saxaphonist was playing within a "free" context and using a wide pallet of screeches, skronks, ect. Does anyone have any idea what it could possibly be? All help will be most appreciated.
Braxton dueting with Abraham Adzinyah? The album is 'Duo (Wesleyan) 1994.' Two long (40+ min) pieces if I recall...

It is likely to be Eric Dolphy. I can't remember the name of the record but it is a mix of experimentations that, IMHO, works fantastically well. I remember his duetting on this record with an Indian musician. There is an alto solo on this record that is astounding. Patrice.
