Hi, I've been trying to send the e-mail below since yesterday morning. I cut it in two now. As I mentioned, I'd like to share my thoughts on this show in the event someone's hesitating about attending or not. This is a MUST SEE! Kang opened accompanied by a keyboardist called Jessica (sorry, can't remember her last name, ¿Jorge maybe?) and some strange Scandinavian film from the 20s in the background, dealing mostly with medieval imagery and akelarres (witches gatherings in the Galician region of Spain) and some Goya paintings (probably from the black or absurd series). Kang used electronics and laptop during the first theme, a dark, droning piece accompanied by some truly disturbing B&W images of a ghostly woman. The second track was more in the "Live Low to the Earth..."-vein, minimal violin lines over repetitive keyboard chords. The third track was the most accessible and the one that the audience enjoyed the most (many of them were basically talking, drinking and wondering what that guy was doing and how gratuitous the whole thing sounded- no comments). It was again a repeating series of violin pizzicato notes over a sheet of soft electronic beats. The melody was absolutely gorgeous and Kang shifted to bow on several segments, in which you could perceive his Indian-style inflections. __________________________________________ Correo Yahoo! - 6MB de espacio ¡Gratis! http://correo.yahoo.es
