Hey there, Can anyone reccomend any Ike Turner records or collections from early in his career when he was playing some excellent guitar? I've heard a few tunes here and there, but have never known what to look for. Thanks, Rob
It's out of print but not that hard to find -- the Rhino disc WE LIKE IKE has all the major stuff. And it's the KILL. sh on 11/14/02 1:03 PM, Robert Pleshar at rpleshar@midway.uchicago.edu wrote:

there's a comp on Charley called Trailblazer that's pretty hot late 50's stuff. there's also one called Ike's Instrumentals on Ace, from the mid 60's. both feature his guitar pretty heavily. sean Hey there, Can anyone reccomend any Ike Turner records or collections from early in his career when he was playing some excellent guitar? If you live in the woods somewhere, I highly recommend getting your hands on the Crypt Records catalog, chock-full of Ike and the like. You can get a PDF copy here: http://www.cryptrecords.com/download.html And I second Skip's recommendation of the Rhino comp, if you can find one. At 04:00 PM 11/14/2002 -0500, Sean Westergaard wrote:
