Hi, I'm currently listening to Zorn's "IAO" and really enjoying it. It's diversified but really cohesioned, IMHO, unlike some of his latest works (Taboo & Exile could be an example, although I like it). The best word that comes to my mind is "atmospheric" as mostly everyone agrees. But there are also some harder peak moments like "Leviathan" a great metal tune with Patton on loutish vocals (basically screaming). Just appalling. I was also particularly impressed by "Lucifer Rising" with Jennifer Charles' sensuous vocals (this time maybe more frightening!). I've fallen in love with the album immediately and it's a pleasure, because I was starting to distrust THE MAN. Best, Efrén del VAlle n.p: IAO
I went to the David Shea project: A Sound Film in Eight Scenes, was very interesting: a little room , no more than 50 people, a keyboard with samples, and of course D.Shea. Eight fragmented pieces with different thematics.: cartoon music, movie fragments, chamber music ... The best pieces was the first and last. The first piece was a brutal mix of jazz, rock, techno, movie sounds...some of the samples of this piece are extracted from Naked City i think. The last piece was a very enigmatic version of satyricon .
Now, other thing. An hours ago I listened for the first time the IAO , and I'm disappointed too, too boring. This is my first impression, but i expect more.
That's all.
Ricardo.

Best,

------------------------------------------------------- I listened it a couple of times more, and my opinion is practically the same. "Lucifer rising" is only correct,"Leviathan" could be better , and "Sacred rites..." is boring. For me the best are the first two traks "Invocation" is completely hypnotic and terrorific, and "Sex Magic"(yes, a little long, but is addictive). _______________________________________________________________ Copa del Mundo de la FIFA 2002 El único lugar de Internet con vÃdeos de los 64 partidos. ¡Apúntante ya! en http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/fc/es/
