Don't rule out the Zappa albums the mighty Captain appears on. Some of those tracks are killer! However the latest Beefheart, Magnetic Hands is not that good. And "Dust sucker" was a bit better. The live sound is poor, but for those of us who have played Beefheart over and over it is refreshing to hear something new. I like the limited Rhino release from My father's place, it contains tracks the original bootleg did not. I also didn't mind the Mats & Morgan "tribute" either. It was recorded after they were asked to put together a band to play Beefheart tunes at one of his art shows. The nearest thing to a live beefheart concert you'll hear these days. Great music, but not great recordings.

Hi boys and girls... I'm probably relocating to Thailand for some time, so I've been trying to find out whether there are any online listings for musicians trying to get in touch with other like-minded instrumentalists (worldwide; all styles). Anyone know any good sources? Thanks for your help! patRice np: Tim Sparks, Tanz nr: Alan Duff, Once Were Warriors
