Hi, Some time ago I bought Jah Wobble's collaboration with Evan Parker "Passage To Hades" and I think it's amazing. I have never heard much Wobble before, and generaly not liked what I have heard, but this has made me interested in more. So any recommendatiosn for epsecially his solo CDs? SOme of the stuff on his own label http://www.30hertzrecords.com looks good, but I don't really know where to start. Thanks _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your messages with MSN 8. Get 2 months FREE*. http://join.msn.com/?page=features/featuredemail

I myself am very partial to _Rising Above Bedlam_ (pre-30 Hertz), his first really successful solo CD (w/the loose collective "Invaders of the Heart") - five tracks with Natacha Atlas singing (mostly in Spanish!) and a few with his own rather endearing vocal attempts. _Shout at the Devil_ is a nifty world beat bit of business with two members of Transglobal Underground. _Molam Dub_ is entirely unique - a mad party band of vocalists from Laos mixed and messed up dubwise. _Deep Space_ has some fine, long, almost krautrocky tracks - standout player here is Jaki Liebzeit on drums. A couple of tracks are clunkers, though. Warning: There are some real duds otherwise in the Wobble canon, including (especially!) his takes on requiems, William Blake and the Celtic poets. -- Stephen Fruitman Dept of Historical Studies Umea University SE-901 87 Umea Sweden
