Thought you might like to know that Thirsty Ear have released a Spring Heel Jack album called "Live" recorded in January on the UK tour that Alistair and I raved about at the time. It features Ashley Wales and John Coxon joined by William Parker, Matthew Shipp, Evan Parker and J Spaceman. It will give a good idea of how that tour sounded with two 35 minute improvised pieces included. Also been listening to the new Steve Coleman + Five Elelments: "On the Rising of the 64 Paths". Looser than Resistance is Futile with a definite acoustic feel and a nice woody bass sound and riffy brass writing. Altogether a fine recording from an excellent band. Cheers Richard Gardner
