You talkin' CDs or LPs? Used to have some LPs, but now I've got the 15 CD "Nara" box that covers '64-'75 plus bonus & rare cuts. Absolutely essential, IMHO, but esp. if you love bossa & samba. Dusty has a decent after-we-import-it price, but you can get the box from Brasil for $80 or so including shipping (might be less now since it's like 4 BRL (Real, R$) to 1 USD these days. There's also a second box for the 70s and 80s... don't know if it's out yet, but it was due back in Nov. 2002.
I saw that box ONCE and have never seen it since. And, this month, if I did see it, would have to leave it for now.
It was a limited press, but it should still be in and out of DG if you want the cheapeast US source. Going via Brasil is best, as I said above.
is it all that?
Well, I can only speak for myself. I love bossa, samba, batucada, tropicália, Brazilian 'Blue Note' jazz, modern Brazilian electro/ fusion... Veloso, Costa, Gil, Gilberto, Zé, Joyce, Mutantes, Sete Ben, Regina etc etc., and the majority of this box is outstanding. I had a chunk of the albums as single discs before I bought it though, so I knew what I was getting. I think it's an essential document of mid-late 60's Brazilian music.
