Hi!!
The new Frisell disk is gonna be a bluegrass cd.....so i'm sure there will be much bitching going on here at the Zorn list.
Hey, I love bluegrass! And "Nashville" is probably my favorie Frisell disc. It's strange, the stuff he is doing now is not really that different from "Nashville" or "This Land" but for some reason it just doesn't cut it AT ALL for me...
Ohh and by the way...the Dave Holland/Elvin Jones cd is a great disk...
Hm, really? I thought it was dreadful. When comparing the versions on that disc wih some of the recordings of the same compostions on earlier disc, it just seems really pointless. If you listen to the version of "Again" on the live disc with Joey Baron and Driscoll it's hard to imagine that it's the same guy............. I'm in accored with Arthur here, except that I didn;t care for NASHVILLE. Frisell really seems to have lost a certain fire, and not even gradually. I think the fire was the Joey/Kermit rhythm section. sh on 6/4/02 1:01 PM, Arthur Gadney at a_gadney@hotmail.com wrote:
