I don't care so much for his harmolodic stuff
Man, I love that stuff. In the early 1980's, if you weren't into new-wave, the ONLY good stuff that came to DC and played the clubs was the punk/jazz stuff. Seeing R.S. Jackson and the Decoding Society, Blood Ulmer, Defunkt, etc. was the main saving grace of that period of time. I'm more partial to the Decoding Society, because I saw them the most times, but I love ALL that stuff. And that wonderful trio with Warren Benbow (drums) and Charles Burnham (violin). WOOOOHOOOO I even contacted R.S. Jackson about reissuing the unavailable Moers albums on CD, but that's another story for another time... Steve Cuneiform

do tell -- cuz that odean album with cornell rochester and gerald veasley is amazing. what's the moer's story? sh
And that wonderful trio with Warren Benbow (drums) and Charles Burnham (violin). WOOOOHOOOO yeah, that's the band on odyssey. great stuff, and columbia actually saw fit to release it on cd a while back (although it's prolly back out of print by now) and when is charlie burnham going to release a solo album? he's spiced up a good number of excellent recordings. sean
So what is the story Steve? Should we be looking for RSJ's Moers albums on Cunieform in the (near) future? I'm sure many folks could suggest other Moers sessions that could use a CD reissue as well. Or is the tale one of those "the label was uninterested and uncooperatiuve" yarns? Interested as always. Ken Waxman --- CuneiWay@aol.com wrote: >

oddly enough, today on ebay someone was selling cd-r's of nasty and eye on you, mastered from vinyl and SIGNED by RSJ himself! there was a cd copy of street priest too, but supposedly legit. those albums really do deserve a proper compact disc release. sean So what is the story Steve? Are there any experienced Echo Layla users out there? I have a software question. Please email me off list. Thanks. Zach
