Hello List: Not so long ago someone mentioned the Thomas Chapin Box set "Alive". I was quite upset with The Knitting Factory for cashing in on the Death of Mr. Chapin. I had already supported every release including numorous guest appearances, the two Arabesque releases "You don't know me" & "I've got your number", under cover collection band, Ned Rothenberg's double band and one Machine Gun record. I questioned the KF about where the proceeds would go? To his family, charity, or so on? It just seemed typical of a label to cash in and include something they knew would interest people who may already own everything. It's a nice package and I am glad it may have turned many on to Thomas! But I do not like the fact KF could not tell me it was for any special reason. I guess I miss out on the extra disc...
