A wonderfully jarring 2 sets of live Arto Lindsay Trio material(over an hour and a half of music!) are currently available on the Dutch radio web site "Is Dit Nog Wel Jazz?" It's a HUGE trio with Melvin Gibbs and Micah Gaugh. I can't recommend it enough - Most of the material seems to be from the last two or three records. Bosa nova with feedback, beatbox, synthisizer, and all kinds of sonic surprises. http://www.vpro.nl/programma/isditnogweljazz/afleveringen/17106387/ http://www.vpro.nl/programma/isditnogweljazz/afleveringen/17106198/ And, hey everybody, don't miss this live performance of about 45 minutes of "Napolli's Walls" by Louis Sclavis' quartet on the BBC Radio 3's "Jazz on 3" show. If you haven't heard this guy yet, hold onto your hat! Bass clarinet gone amok! This one is only available until Friday... http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/jazz/jon3/jon3.shtml?focuswin Finally, have any of you New York folks heard the New York New Music Ensemble? They just played here on Maui Saturday night; some really exciting pieces - Arthur Kreiger, Shostakovich, and Jacob Druckman, among others - a jolt of lightning in an otherwise dull tourist-friendly easy listening music scene. It was the last show of a world tour, apparently. Hana hou! (Encore!) Sated, Nad NP: Prince's "N.E.W.S." - yes!!! Every time I get weary of the little devil, he's throws something like this out, and I'm hooked again. Hi Y'all... Wanted to check out the Lindsay stuff on the links that Dan provided us with:

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any MP3s... Also wanted to listen to

but this requires Real One Player; no way am I going to install that spyware thing... So, I was generally wondering - do any of you maybe record this stuff onto the com- puter, convert it to MP3 and then archive it? If yes: wouldn't it be great if we could somehow make those files available to one another? I would happily provide password- protected space on one of my webservers; of course having to make sure it wouldn't take too much bandwith - or I might get into trouble with my webhost... Let me know what you think... (On or off- list.) patRice http://silverknuckle.com http://tattoo-source.com np: Matsu Takako, Complete Singles nr: Bangkok Post
Yeah, these are all RealAudio - Spyware? I didn't realize there were privacy issues around receiving streaming audio. I record these things directly into a FeltTip Sound Studio file and chop them into tracks before dumping the folder into iTunes, and then onto CD, if I really like'm. I've got little bandwidth for sending huge files, sorry. While I'm on the subject, WFMU out of NYC archives an unimaginable amount of RealAudio files from all its DJs. The "Inflated Squirrel Carcass" alone is 3 hours a week going back to Jan 2001(!) of the MOST eclectic assortment of the arcane, each show bizarrely titled(with playlists going back to '97...): http://wfmu.org/playlists/IS Tiptoe into the stream, no fear, Dan On Thursday, June 10, 2004, at 02:28 AM, patRice wrote:
