Hi again, Isn't google just wonderful: "I got really angry during the war in Kosovo last spring, because I was traveling right near Yugoslavia when all that stuff went down, when we decided to start bombing them. I was reading articles in the paper every day about weapons makers and how their stock is going up and how great this war is for them, and then I would turn the page and see a million refugees. Ive always read about social activism and change, and Ive always been involved, but its always been separate from the music. Witness brings them together." http://www.allaboutjazz.com/iviews/ddouglas2000.htm Bye. _________________________________________________________________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Hi, The Douglas album you mention is "Witness" and the "Mahfouz" track is dedicated to the Egiptian novelist Magib Mahfouz, who was awarded with the Nobel if I'm not wrong- I don't like his writings in general, btw. However, "Witness" is a wonderful album, the best Douglas ever put out, imho. It's really worth checking. There's some reference to antibelicism in the Tiny Bell album "Constellations" as well (I don't have them at hand though). Best, Efrén del Valle n.p: MM&W "Electric Tonic" ___________________________________________________ Yahoo! Móviles Personaliza tu móvil con tu logo y melodÃa favorito en http://moviles.yahoo.es
