definitive version (and anyone who disagrees is just WRONG) -- joao gilberto with caetano veloso on joao's BRAZIL album. "brazil" is only about 2/3 of the song "aquerela do brasil", written in the 30s by ary borroso. skip h

I've always liked Jobim's laid-back 10-minute version off of 'Stone Flower' (1970). The whole album is great, IMO, although some people find it too much like lounge music. It contains the classic title track (you can hear another version of it on Santana's 'caravanserai', too), as well as 'Tereza My Love' and 'Children's Games'. Horn arrangements by Deodato, prior (i think) to his 'breakthrough' (and Grammy winning) funk rendition of 'Also sprach Zarathustra' from the movie Being There. And, interestingly enough, Deodato did the horn arrangements on some Bjork albums in the 1990's. Small world. -whit On Thu, 27 May 2004, Corbin Booth wrote:
