Fantomas generally ripped me to shreds when they played in Athens, GA on April 2nd. They did material from all three records plus some material from the as yet to be released 4th CD. They even did "Chariot Choogle" for christsakes! Hearing the records is one thing, seeing them perform the material is another incredible, frightening and awe-inspiring thing altogether. I saw them in the middle of the ACME fest here, and it surprised me how Fantomas and Melt-Banana's performances meshed into Joe McPhee, Peter Brotzmann and the Vandermark 5 and offshoots performances over the 4 days that all these events occured. Same intensity and creativity, only the methods differed. Go see Fantomas!
