If we go deeper, we find that those authors think they can split in someone's face because they are university professors (what's most suprising is that they find that a proof of great cultural attitude).
(snip)
Exactly. They DO KNOW HOW THOSE THINGS HAPPEN, so they can teach the stupid majority what to do. They are self - proclaimed experts in cultural, ethical, and esthetical subjects (on afterthought not very much self proclaimed - the whole society accepts there being people who take this role). The entire idea of 'value expert' is, for me, disgusting and harful.
I don't like much of anything that Bloom writes, but compared to the vitriol above, he's a veritable paragon of good sense and moderation. As for Adorno, well, you've never bothered to really READ him. Like Mr. Fodor said, "if Mr. Gokieli offers to dissolve your problem about mass culture, tell him to go climb a tree." Marcin, you've been duly informed. __________________________________________________________________ The NEW Netscape 7.0 browser is now available. I really did read his two books, 'dialectic of the enlightment', and 'philosophy of new music' - although I found both books uniteresting to a point that may easily indicate lack of comprehension on my part. Unsure of my atittude, I started to hate them (that's what we do not understand something, insn't it? ;-). Marcin

I can't see the irony in this posting. In fact, I feel very sorry for you for the way you reveal yourself where nobody asked you to. One word of advice: Please re-read your e-mails a couple of times before you send them out, or have someone cool-headed read them first. Now that the point is reached that 'humorist' fascist attitudes crop up in your on-line ramblings, I just have to stop reading you. No offense, but you are filtered by my Outlook system from now on. Bye, Remco Takken
All I can say is that it was intended as irony. Marcin ----- Original Message ----- From: Remco Takken <r.takken@planet.nl>
