Personally, I feel Zorn has a unique style and I've got to give him kudos for pushing the boundaries with the sax on albums such as (any Pain Killer album here). Is he Coltrane or Joshua Redman? No, but I wouldn't want him to be either. He's his own man, with his own voice and that's what makes his sax appealing to me. Besides greatness is forever in the eye of the beholder.
