as far as transferring cassettes, I do that a lot, and I use the recorder on soundforge4.5 for that. It records it to a mono wav file, then you can change that to stereo with the same program. The program is about $400 if you buy it in a store, but there are a few places on the web to get cracked copies and say fuck off to the overcharging bastards that make the stuff... of course, I would have no idea how to go about getting such illegal warez... I paid full price for mine, tax and all.... but never the less, its a good all around audio program for recording, editing, synthesizing, etc....

Mitsumi makes a great burner. The Plex-Writer by Plextor is good as well. I've been happy with HP. I've heard good things about Asus's drivers as well. The Mitsumi is the least expensive, believe. Check newegg.com or pricewatch.com for a price, if you don't mind OEM parts.

Hello-
Could anyone here recommend good quality, as well as inexpensive CD Burners? I'm specifically looking to transfer quite a few cassettes to CDR. I'm not interested in MP3 recordings etc...
Thanks.......
