Dear Z-listers! Again and again looking through PSF catalogue from Forced Exposure I still can't decide what record to start with. What can you recommend for a free improv fan ? deka

Well, you could try PSF 15-16 from Fushitsusha, probably my favorite of that group. And from there you could pick up 106, which is Acid Mothers Temple's Pataphysical Freak Out MU!! Their second release. I like the fifth track a lot.
Bill's right about Fushitsusha's "Double Live II," PSF 15-16 - just an incredible, sprawling alien rock monster. And Acid Mothers Temple are well worth checking out. Keji Haino's "Nijiumu" is excellent, albeit an uncomfortable listen, and Nijiumu's "Era of Sad Wings" is really special, haunting atmospherics. High Rise's "II" and "Live" are fabulous biker rock outings. I don't have a whole lot of PSF's free improv releases, but the Haino/Brotzmann "Evolving Blush" CD's really good; they put out a Borbetomagus CD that I remember as being fine, and AMM's "From a Strange Place" is also good, if not the place I'd start with AMM. I think the first Musica Transonic CD was recorded for Tzadik, incidentally. At 11:16 AM 7/4/2003 +0400, deka wrote:
