I've got this track in "The early years 1959-1969" or in "If you got ears" bootleg. I think it was composed by Howlin' Wolf, one of Beefheart's most evident influences. The background sound comes from heavy machinery in a factory, such as big anvils. Btw, it's really a very god blues. This afternoon I discovered an oddity among my old 45's: a
promo
copy of "Hard Working Man" w/Capt. Beefheart on vocals. It was apparently fromthe score of "Blue Collar" (1978) and the credits list Jack Nitzsche, Ry Cooder and Paul Schrader as the writers.
Could anyone shed some light on this disc or what led to such a fortuitousgrouping?

it's also on rhino's 'dust blows forward' anthology, who give the same composer credits as the single. sean I've got this track in "The early years 1959-1969" or in "If you got ears" bootleg.
