Finally we know: World's fastest drummer
I just heard today that recently there was some kind of world championship in heavy metal drumming. Apparantly the winner hit somewhere around 800 bassdrum beats per minute. Anybody have more info about it? _________________________________________________________________ Send søde postkort til søde mennesker http://www.msn.dk/postkort
Did the championship offer a special award for bad taste in drumming? Ken Waxman --- Gullasch Baronen <theclosethipster@hotmail.com> wrote: > I just heard today that recently there was some kind

i haven't listened to the audio, but Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel & Derek Roddy from Hate Eternal are some of the fastest kick players i've heard (and in time) & they're not in any competitions.... Does/did Baron use double kick (pedal) in NC? -----Original Message----- From: zorn-list-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:zorn-list-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Ken Waxman Sent: Thursday, 26 June 2003 12:13 AM To: Gullasch Baronen; zorn-list@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: Finally we know: World's fastest drummer Did the championship offer a special award for bad taste in drumming? You can visit the official site of the WFD (World's Fastest Drummer Organization)at http://www.extremesportdrumming.com/wfd/menu.html. Extreme sport drummming!! No shit. It doesn't have much to do with music, but it's a great way to market sticks, heads, cymbals, and the Drumometer. Kind of fun if you're a drummer. My favorite document about drumming is the performance of Dave Lombardo in Cremaster, accompanied by the sound of swarming bees. Is there any other connection between Matthews and Zorn ? S/ bsweet@umich.edu wrote: Extreme sport drummming!! No shit. It doesn't have much to do with music,

Kind of fun for drummers, yeah. But some of us drummers also like to think of ourselves as musicians and we get amused by some other -maybe more intangible- concepts like swing, drive, groove, punch, touch, etc... IMHO all those competitions have nothing to do with music, hence with art and are nothing but a tasteless waste of practice time. I have a rather fast single stroke roll myself, but I'll save it for a better context... Gabriel __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
