I am just curious what people think about this one. The opinions i am mostly looking for are from the old metallica fans that were turned off by their 90's cd's. Do you feel this cd redeemed them? I personally really like the new cd a lot. It has more energy than any cd they have done in the past and i love the snare drum sound. It's just raw. The lyrics aren't the best but I dont think Metallica was ever known for their lyrics.

I haven't heard it yet but I don't like them anyway ;-) And I was extremely disapointed when I discovered that Robert Trujillo joined the band, but maybe he'll bring some nice bass to the band. BTW a long time ago (i.e. when Suicidal Tendencies split), I heard that Trujillo started to play in a jazz band. Does any one know about this? I never found anything at that time... -- Thierry

Well, I got no info 'bout Trujillo playing in jazz band, but together with Cyco Miko (Mike Muir), and even before SC's split, he cofounded Infectious Grooves - pretty good punk/funk/hardcore/metal ;) band (I can really recommend their first album - 'The Plague That Makesw Your Booty Move... It's The Infectious Grooves' - kinda Suicidal Tendencies + funk). Then he began to play in Ozzy Osbourne's band. As far as I know he stayed with Ozzy untill joining Metallica. Paraphrenicc
