Hi. I recently saw "Finding Forrester" (which was dissapointing, btw) and was quite surprised. Bill Frisell wrote a lot of music for it, but as it's main theme it uses the last song from the "Quartet" CD. However, in the "Quartet" linernoted it's mentioned that this piece of music was originally composed for the Italian film "La Scuola". This must be a first. At least I can't think of any other examples, where somebody just took the theme from one film and usd it in another. Lets blame it on Hal Wilner. He seems able to destroy anything he gets his hands on. What a shame. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com

Willner's pretty brilliant, in my opinion, and in the opinions of just about any musicians he's ever worked with. skip h

Scorsese's use of the Ronettes in the opening to his excellent "Mean Streets" sent a film buff friend of mind nearly over the edge when whoever did "Dirty Dancing" reused it for the opening to that movie.
