Heck, it seems like the Beatles were discussed more than Zorn here for awhile last year. ----- Original Message ----- From: Efrén del Valle <efrendv@yahoo.es> Date: Tuesday, June 24, 2003 2:43 pm Subject: Re: jazz snob eat shit
I don't know where those conclusions were taken from. A lot of rock and pop bands and musicians have been discussed here largerly and repeatedly, anything from The Beach Boys to Sonic Youth, Elvis Costello, Lou Reed or Messhuggah, to name only a few, and some of these examples are clearly radio-friendly at their own level. I'm a FNM fan and I've been following Patton's stuff since the early nineties, but I still think that Tomahawk is his weakest project to date (although it's not exactly his brainchild). I didn't have a chance to listen to "Mit Gas" but it's not like I'm really looking forward to it either, which doesn't imply any straight-ahead-rock dismissal at all.

I regret having missed that one. I've been finding more and more pleasure in the Beatles discography during the last months. Better late than never.
