Hi, I just own the first one and SYR5 and love both of them. If anyone got the chance to see the first piece of SYR1 live, "Anagrama", he/she will probably agree that it's just spectacular, amazing. A long instrumental piece with a stunning crescendo. Contrarily to what has been said about the Mori/Gordon/Olive effort, I think there's nothing cacophonic in there but a good mixture of electronics and rock in the SY vein. Oh, and I missed their "Goodbye 20th Century" performance in Barcelona last year and I'll never forgive myself!! Best, Efrén del Valle
What does everyone think of the four EPs that SY put out on their own label. I have the first three and enjoy them mostly, but there are portions I can do with out. Worth the ten bucks but not essential, I believe. I'm curious to see what various people who like different facets of SY's output think.

Surprised no one mentioned 'Silver Session,' the SKR disc, in which a flippant fuck-you to a noisy hair metal band practicing upstairs was tranformed into a fiery, cathartic threnody for a fan who had taken his own life. Did no one like that one? Steve Smith ssmith36@sprynet.com (who still thinks 'Evol' is the greatest, though I know history didn't end there...)
