I got a 30gig ipod this summer, needless to say its amazing and probably the first inanimate thing I would save from a burning building/house. I heard something about a street campaign in nyc regarding the ipod battery. This one guy was pissed off because apple upgraded the ipod battery but did not make this available for replacement under the warranty at the time. Any ipod people out there catch one of these signs? thanks jason __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Find out what made the Top Yahoo! Searches of 2003 http://search.yahoo.com/top2003

I bought the original iPod when they first came out (ditto the burning house-inanimate object comment). The battery failed about a year after I bought it. They sent me a box to ship the defective one back, and rapidly sent a new one (same model) with the upgraded battery. Is anyone else using iTrip to play through a car radio? One of my students turned me on to it after my cassette adaptor died (older car--no cd player), but I get a lot of static and it cuts out altogether at times. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kelley
I am using itrip as well. I only use it in the car and when I want to really wow someone with playing something for them off a transistor radio. itrip had some issues with their first one, the second one is better tho not perfect, you are still dealing with an fm frequency range. I have found that if your battery is at about 1/4 you will get worse and worse broadcast quality. jt --- Kelley Kirkpatrick <KelKirkpatrick@cox.net> wrote:

Zorn-agains, I'm taking this opportunity to ask this again. Since the iPod is completely linked with iTunes and with the iTunes Music Store I once again want to ask the Zornlist to just keep us informed when other alternative albums become available in the iTunes Music Store. When you stumble onto something, then please share it with the list. Thanks, Rob, Belgium www.itunes.com On 05 jan 2004, at 22:26, jason tors wrote:

I heard this too. non-replaceable & if sent away, costs just a little less/more than an actual new iPod. I also heard the new/next iPod will have a replaceable battery. Since there is all this talk of ipods... I've used Musicmatch for quite awhile for ripping mp3s. I've been very happy with its speed (upwards of 30x), quality, and CDDB lookup. What I'm not happy with is their constant need to upgrade and expensive prices. Does any one know of a good quality ripper that even approaches the speed of MM. CDDB features would also be nice. Thanks, Zach
