sidestepping your bowie joke, check out 'the fire this time.' i agree with you about brass fantasy records, but this is the exception. also, i wanted the bowie bros to record together my whole life. guess i shouldn't have expected anything more than 'black tie, white noise,' tho.

I never could get into any of his Brass Fantasy stuff.
Seeing him live with the Art Ensemble, and even once with The Leaders, remain some of my most enjoyable concert memories.

It's like the Leaders. From what I discerned before not-buying their recording, it sucked. But on stage, they brought down the house one night at McCabe's in Santa Monica.
