Art et al, Napoli 23 is a pretty stunning group. The album shuttles between electro-acoustic improv, with the laptops of Hilmar and Skuli going full bent against viola and percussion, to soundscapes, to a gorgeous and pretty straight reading of a Bhajan, followed by another Indian thing, this time a loopy phrase which is used as the jumping off point for percussion and laptops to make a bit of a mess (sounds like bagpipes at one point.) I highly reccommend it. It satisfies a lot of my different tastes all at once, and with dramatic Icelandic scenery on the box. I got mine in Reykjavik at 12 tonar, and I think they mail order: www.12tonar.is. A fabulous shop: I went in and asked a question, and the guy sat me down on a couch in a side room, poured me espresso and gave me a stack of Iceland's finest. Go there if you're a music fan or a fan of buying records. He told me Napoli played there the previous month and that they were absolutely devastating.
