i'm embarrassed that after all this time, i hadn't noticed skip and patrice's divergent tastes. and now i'm genuinely curious. which one of you likes evan parker? zero-7? grand funk railroad? i was not impressed with freak in the first few times thru, but am finding bits of charm in it -- particularly when it's on random play with a few other discs -- seems like the contrast, pulling it out of its own context, helps me.... if anyone else studied the horn duos poll as carefully as waxman and wondered, the ayler brothers were named on two ballots.... martin np. tomasz stanko -- from the green hill

listen to it next to DECOY. That helped me. The first listen I was perplexed and mildly amused. For some reason, I would up listening to it after DECOY and a whole lot of rays of light went on. Go figure. -- skip h http://www.skipheller.com
