Actually what I meant is which store can afford to hire the a Staff as knowledgeable as the crew at DMG. Sorry for the confusion, Lev -------- Lev "Ljova" Zhurbin Please visit my website ==> http://Ljova.com/ for info and many music samples! "Metaphors be with you!" -?
What are you talking about: "Who can afford DMG?" Downtown Music Gallery's prices are extremely reasonable besides the fact that they carry exclusive product you won't find anywhere else (especially in your beloved chainstores), that in many cases comes from and benefits the artists directly. Stores like DMG are essential for keeping a music community alive and they should be supported by all music lovers like the people I suspect are part of this list. I am so thankful that here in Seattle we have Wall of Sound, a store with a similar function as DMG. Lev 'Ljova' Zhurbin <ljova@ljova.com> wrote: > From: Zach Steiner

I have seen many record chains closing locations, so I'm sure Tower is feeling the economic hard times as well. For a chain, it was always a good place to find something interesting. Now I'm sorry that isn't the case.
I cannot speak to the stock of our local NYC Towers but have been getting endless problems accessing the Tower Website.
Frankly, between tax, internet-only savings, listening samples and the convenience of having it all dropped off at your door, what is the incentive of buying at a store? Talking with an ignorant cash register junior.
Now the staff @DMG, that's a good reason to shop at a store. But who can afford 'em? :)

I suspect that the folks at DMG aren't earning much themselves. But those of us who work at the big stores aren't *necessarily* as clueless as the stereotype. And if you believe that they can afford to hire better staff, could you please convince them to give us a raise rather than cutting hours?
