I'd say that, in terms of sheer skill, Anthony Mazzella tops the list for me. The man plays with all ten fingers on the fretboard (with dexterity that makes Stanley Jordan gasp). I've seen him play Stevie Wonder's 'Higher Ground' live; he plays the bassline (Flea-style slap bass), the funk rhythm, and taps the melody AT THE SAME TIME!! My favorites, though, would be Pat Martino, Trey Spruance, and Alex Lifeson. All so distinct and interesting, whether comping, soloing, or thrashing.
