Hello there, Just a matter of curiosity, can anyone tell me what "a project of hips road" is referring to? probably been asked here before but I saw no mention of it on the FAQ. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Mail - 100MB free storage!
I've never known either. There's a website here: www.hipsroadedition.com, that features Zorn's classical compositions, but to be honest, it doesn't clarify too much, if anything. I'd also appreciate if someone came up with a clearer explanation on this. Also, what was that label EVVA that appeared in some old Tzadik stuff? Hi, I think you find some information about this in the booklet of Spillane: Quote from a list member: -- from the Spillane liner notes: ON JAPAN At one point I wanted to call this record Hip's Road. It's in the Harajuku section of Tokyo, but it's not a road; it's actually a boutique that caters to young teenage girls, like the ones you see singing pop songs on Japanese TV. That's not why I wanted to call the record Hip's Road; I like the name. The Japanese have a really great way of using an mixing up the English language. So "Hip's Road" for me is like the sound of "Naked Lunch" or "Blade Runner," a combination of words that appeals to me. Wm. Crump --
