Hm, not me. I especially liked the sonic interaction between Courvoisier's inside piano playing and Ikue's laptop.
-Tim Berne Clownfinger (Sounded a bit like bloodcount with different instrumentation - still good but I expected something different).
Hm, as far as judging relative to Berne's various groupings, I don't hear this. Have you heard SCIENCE FRICTION? Do you think that album sounds like Bloodcount? Do you think this performance sounded more like Bloodcount than thAT album? Dang, still waiting for my review to be approved... -- Vincent Kargatis np: General Magic & Pita - LIVE AND FINAL FRIDGE
Well, It was the first time I have heard both these groupings, so my opinion will probably change when I get hold of the respective CD's. It may just be that I'm not all that familiar with Ikue Mori's sounds, and concentrated too much on the piano/percussion. I think my problem with Clownfinger may also have been the slightly muddy mix that reached my ears (sitting a bit close to one of the speakers). The lasting impression I came away with was of the repetitive riffing sections, which seemed to resembled the riffing sections on the bloodcount CD's. It's being broadcast by Orf1 (on Astra Satellite) at the end of September, so I'll give it another listen and probably change my mind. Science Friction is now definately on my 'to buy' list as well.
