Hello,
Likewise I stumbled across Hanging Gardens and loved it, can also recommend Aether from 2001. Similarly its a single track which clocks in at around an hour. Progress is equally unhurried and quite magnificent for this fact. Would be interested to hear more concrete info on the overdub front. I seem to recall a review claiming no overdubs had been used, the album being recorded live in studio. Or maybe I dreamt that.
Then they must at the very least use a lot of samples. Listen to the drums for example. They fade in and out and plays different things at the same time and so on. Cheers. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

Some of the albums are very overdubbed, with organ, electric bass, electronic percussion and samples being added to the core piano/bass/drums. Live the music is totally improvised without even an initial planned idea whereas on recordings they generally have a bit more of an idea what is going to happen and how and they work from there. Incidentally, nearly all the albums are one 1 hour track, whereas live they usually do two 45 minute pieces. Julian.
