Yo! Has anybody seen the film "Gambling, Gods and LSD" for which Fred Frith did the music? It's showing pretty soon and I'm wondering if I should check it out. Is it worth seeing, if nothing else, then for the music alone?? At least the following comment made me rather interested: "GAMBLING, GODS AND LSD is KOYAANISQATSI with content." didn't see a reply for this so i thought i'd throw in my 2c. saw it in vancouver earlier this year. i'm not much of a film critic, so here goes... the director covers lots of disparate elements in this documentary, which don't really seem related, other than that they are part of this wonderful thing we call life. the title sums up some of the topics that are covered. ( although i think there is very little on LSD from memory, just a passing mention of T Leary). I thought it was a little long and a bit rambling but maybe that was the intention. (2 and a half hours? ) the end part was interesting in that every time i thought they would wrap it up they just kept going. he investigates a certain faith healing church if i remember correctly for eg and lets us take a peek into the weekend gathering. i admit i was curious because of the mention of fennesz and o'rourke (i think) in the soundtrack credits but they're previously released tracks. --- Arthur Gadney <a_gadney@hotmail.com> wrote:
