Hello.
Seiichi Yamamoto has a lot of side projects during these years. I'm not sure where the guy lives, but here in Osaka, he seems to get the call to play along with almost every interesting musician who cruises through town
Yes, he lives in Osaka.
he was one of the opening acts when Han Bennink played in Kyoto in May
Did you see the Yamamoto/Bennink show? I'm very curious about that one. I hope one day Bennink will release a CD with some of his meetigns with Japanese musicians, like Yamamoto, Otomo and so on. But little chance of that; i suppose.
My personal favourite over the last year or so has been his new band with Phew, MOST... fast, spunky punk stuff that was limited to hell and back during mastering, making their one album so far easily the loudest-sounding CD I own.
That sounds pretty cool. Who else is in this band?
As to EYE, I think he is more interested in being a DJ now. Unfortunately. I had never been in pain as the result of a DJ set before the Bennink show, but Eye apparently wanted to kill the audience that night... the sounds of trees being cut down were cranked out over the PA for about half an hour, and every time the wood splintered, the volume was cranked up to the point where it actually *hurt* my ears. I believe I muttered the word "asshole" several times during that set.
Wauw! That sounds pretty cool. Bye. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

Mhm, the sentence 'one day Bennink will release a cd' sounds fairly odd to dutch jazz lovers who know about the actual scale of ICP records headquarters. There weren't hardly any international collaborations on ICP for the last 20 years. The year 2000 live Beresford/ Bennink duets come to mind, that's about it. Other people might release duets and stuff (Incus/ Derek Bailey, FMP, Chadbourne), certainly not Bennink himself, at this point. Regards, Remco Takken
